Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwell (Camilla) visited our little village, walking through the streets looking through some of the shops, even popping into the Pub (maybe for a quick pint?).
We weren't going to go, but I figured that Prince Charles will be the King one day (probably) so it would be good to go along and soak in the atmosphere and take photos for the future generations to have a look at.
Oshawott tried to get into the spirit, but he just wasn't sure what all of the fuss was about. He did have fun meeting a nice policeman though!
Pichu was fairly tolerant of sitting around for over an hour, only having a few tantrums here and there..
The police presence was impressive and there were zoom lenses as far as the eye could see!
I thought these photos were pretty funny! FBI agent, Police Captain (or something high up), and a monk checking their smart phones.
After popping into the Richmond Arms for a pint and some Rissoles and Gravy, the Royal couple once again braved the streets to greet more people. Naturally it started to rain. But no problem, they had 'people' that scurried off to get umbrellas for them. The rest of us.. well we got wet.
Can't forget the selfie. Me, perched up on a bench, trying to balance and operate the camera at the same time. Charles took forever to come out of the wood crafting shop!
Have you ever had a glimpse of someone Royal or famous?

Ooh, an exciting bit of famous person spotting. Worth braving the rain :-)
ReplyDeleteLuckily for us it waited until we got to the car until it poured. But they would have gotten wet!
DeleteHow exciting! That'll be something to remember. I love the monk checking his phone!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh!
DeleteI met Paula Duncan a few weeks ago, was a bit disalusioned cause she was pretty drunk by the tine I got to talk to her :-/ but she is still a minor celebrity. Decided I would like to meet Noni Hazelhurst next :-(
ReplyDeleteMeeting Noni would be great!
DeleteIs it bad I didn't know he was in town? I think I'd be pretty spun out seeing Prince Charles wandering around. He's uber-famous.
ReplyDeleteI only knew because friends told me. I am very out of touch with the news.
DeleteOh you lucky thing! I love all of the royals, I've never seen any in real life. Great photos!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, really glad we went along to see what all the fuss was about!
DeleteDid you see Mel's (Coal Valley View) post on meeting Charles and Camilla in Richmond the other day ... Camilla shook Superman's hand!
ReplyDeleteLoving the trio of mobile phone pics :D
Superman was super lucky!
DeleteGreat photos, thanks Sophie. I've got to say I read a headline saying Prince in Town and I thought - "Great, Prince is doing another tour - I missed the last lot of concerts."
ReplyDeletehahaha!!
DeleteI love the picture of the monk checking his phone! When the Queen came to Melbourne, I tought: let's go! But, there was such a crowd! I didn't see much of her!
ReplyDeleteI thought I had commented on this and then I remembered that I tried to on my phone and the stupid bitch disappeared it!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of them on their phones, they are classic! Especially the monk! I guess this really is the technology age isn't it!
How exciting! I would love to have seen them :-)
